How to Find RAM Speed with CPU-Z

Where to look

On the Memory tab, find the DRAM frequency (sometimes labeled Frequency). On many DDR systems, the effective data rate is roughly twice the DRAM clock shown (DDR = double data rate).

How to interpret the number

• If CPU-Z shows DRAM ~3000 MHz on DDR4/DDR5, effective speed is often ~6000 MT/s
• Compare that effective figure to your kit’s advertised speed
• Check SPD profiles for XMP/EXPO rated speeds vs current JEDEC defaults
• Confirm dual-channel (or appropriate channel mode) is active for best bandwidth

Verification workflow

Write down advertised kit speed → read CPU-Z current frequency → check SPD rated profile → enable memory profile in BIOS if needed → re-check CPU-Z. This is the fastest way to verify RAM is running as sold.
